Our Spring Water

Swithland Spring Water is an exceptionally pure source of water from deep beneath the Charnwood Hills in Leicestershire.  It is a moderately mineralised Natural Spring Water that has its own unique and pleasant flavour delicately filtered by nature.  The catchment area of Charnwood is predominately woodland and parkland and still retains the unspoilt beauty of the ancient forest.

Our own Swithland Spring Water is a protected Natural Spring source with an excellent record of microbiological quality and was set up under the supervision of the leading European Consultant Microbiologist Mr Michael Hurst.

Here at Swithland Spring we have own laboratory and are able to conduct Coliform and E Coli testing to the standard and frequency specified by our association.  The British Water Cooler Association (BWCA) currently recommends daily checks to assure our customers of the standards and quality of our water.

In addition to the daily checks we submit weekly samples to an Independent Laboratory for assessment.  The Environment Agency has carried out many full Microbiological Assessments of our water at the bottling plant and we have received a clean bill of health on each occasion.

A bottling plant and warehouse has been established at the spring source in Swithland, with all the latest equipment on site to ensure that every attention is given to cleanliness.  This ensures the high quality of the water is maintained and that it is bottled in its purest form and is available in both popular sizes of 18.9 litre and 13 litre for Water Coolers and 500ml, 750ml and 1.5 litre small pack.

Returned bottles are washed for reuse in a purpose built facility, this includes a final sterilising rinse using Ozone, as bottle wash performance is a key issue in protecting product quality.  Following cleaning and sanitising bottle filling is then carried out under strictly controlled conditions in the same facility and is immediately followed by capping.  Filled bottles are then placed in racks or on pallets, wrapped and held in our warehouse prior to delivery by our own fleet of vehicles.
